INTRODUCTION

The Miss Esan Akugbe Malaysia Beauty Pageant is an event that highlights the beauty, character, culture, and talents of Esan Akugbe members in Malaysia. This pageant emphasises pride in our heritage and fosters unity within the Esan Akugbe community.

Under the slogan "Beauty in Diversity, Strength in Culture," the event will include assessments of contestants' personalities, intelligence, talents, and a question-and-answer section. This marks the first event of its kind in Malaysia, bringing a unique cultural celebration to the forefront.

SELECTION GUIDELINES

Contestants will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Participants: Open to all Esan Akugbe Malaysia members, regardless of size, height, or body type.
  • Character: Judges will evaluate contestants’ character, how they interact with others, and their leadership qualities.
  • Cultural Expression: Contestants must express their pride and knowledge of Esan culture through attire, language, and storytelling.
  • Dance & Talent: Each contestant must perform a cultural dance or talent that reflects their connection to Esan heritage.
  • Catwalk & Modeling: Contestants will be judged on posture, poses, and a graceful catwalk.

Please bring any music or props required for your audition.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Contestants must be of Esan descent (either one or both parents must be of Esan heritage).
  • Contestants must be registered members of Esan Akugbe Malaysia.
  • No prior modelling or pageant experience is required.
  • Judges' decisions are final, and no correspondence will be entertained during the pageant.
  • Contestants/finalists may be required to participate in public events and workshops.
  • Contestants must agree to abide by all the rules and regulations of the pageant.

EVENT DETAILS

  • Registration Opens: 29th September 2024
  • Registration Closes: 27th October 2024
  • Audition Start: November 2024
  • Audition Attire: Plain white t-shirt, blue pants/jeans, and heels
  • Grand Finale Date: Esan Akugbe Award Night, November 2024

FINALIST COMMITMENT

Finalists are required to commit to the following activities in addition to the Grand Finale:

  • Photo & Video Shoot: To promote the event and build contestants' personal profiles.
  • Final Rehearsal: A complete run-through of the event.
